Job description Position Summary
Arts & Science is seeking a talented full-stack senior software developer using SQL and ASP.NET MVC with C#. Manage ties between team databases and central databases and data warehouses; analyze, develop and maintain client/server information systems for F&AS; develop and maintain existing applications in the client/server environment. Advise the Director to streamline team workflows and to strategically coordinate with other offices to ensure uninterrupted operation of Arts & Science Information System (‘OASIS’) by implementing appropriate system fixes & enhancements. Identify system & process inefficiencies to ensure systems are optimized and to ensure support responses are timely & accurate. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of software development best practices and a passion for creating innovative and scalable solutions.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience:
5+ years academic or professional level experience including development of client/server systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with full-stack development of applications on relational database management systems, programming, and troubleshooting problems.
Preferred Experience:
Experience remediating security issues (Acunetix and GitHub Dependabot) and upgrading software stacks & refactoring codebases for vulnerability patching & overall future-proofing.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with users to identify problems and develop solutions. Must include experience in SQL, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git version control, and object-oriented programming (OOP). Ability to analyze and solve complex problems with innovative, data-informed solutions.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent technical projects and meet deadlines amidst evolving details & competing interests from a diverse group of stakeholders.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 to USD $120,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
