Company: Envisionit
Job description: Envisionit, an award-winning digital marketing agency based in Chicago, is seeking a Web Project Manager to join our growing team. Our clients span a number of industries including CPG, Emerging Tech, Hospitality and Travel, and our teams boast many talents across the spectrum of digital. Come work alongside a tight-knit bunch of seriously skilled people who genuinely like each other, have fun, and work hard for the collective success!
We are headquartered in Chicago and have a beautiful office overlooking Millennium Park and Lake Michigan that is available for our employees to use, as well as a flexible work-from-home option.
The role:
As a Web Product Manager, you will provide leadership, administration and management of a leading travel and tourism website. Overseeing the ongoing feature and functionality road map, you will collaborate with our cross-functional team to plan and execute a variety of website initiatives. You’re able to understand the creative requirements almost as well as a designer, the technical requirements almost as well as a developer, and communicate both in a way that results in the perfect solution being delivered. You’ll be the champion of quality assurance, ensuring we always deliver a highly superb product at the highest possible value. You’ll also dig into Google Analytics to prepare reports, and collaborate on strategic optimizations.
Key functions:
- Become an expert on all industry terminology, competition and business priorities
- Gain a thorough understanding of the client category, business and vision and keep up with evolving strategic decisions that will impact planning and execution decisions
- Expert (and defender) of the website’s purpose, particularly the user’s experience, voice, and journey
- Author functional and technical requirements documentation that define the business rules and requirements for the execution team to follow
- Analyze and document risks and assumptions that are associated with the requirements and explain to clients what they mean and why they are significant
- Manage website backlog of new features, changes to existing features, and bug fixes
- Produce project plans, schedules, sitemaps, low fidelity wireframes that production teams can work from with ease
- Document website processes and procedures
- Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues
What we’re looking for:
- A critical thinker with a natural ability to see the whole solution in its entirety from an early stage and with few gaps, thus being able to manage the project’s risks and maintain momentum
- Someone who will dig in and do a bit of research until they feel comfortable working with new technologies
- Can bridge the worlds of marketing, users and technology, as well as weigh and accept necessary business decisions made by the client in relation to recommendations being made by our team
- Experience with client management and providing a “buttoned-up” experience for the client, being highly responsive and helping to keep them engaged, organized and connected to project plans, timing, and requirements
- Some knowledge or experience with accessibility, usability and UX/design best practices; programming and back-end decisions; SEO and analytics strategy
- Experience with some of our tech platforms and tools: WordPress, Google Workspace, Slack, Google Analytics.
What’s in it for you:
- Flexibility – We strive to support our employees and understand that life is complex with a lot of moving parts. We offer a hybrid in-office/remote environment, generous PTO, summer Fridays and floating holidays beyond the standard holidays.
- Growth opportunities – Every employee has regular check-ins with managers to discuss priorities and goal progress, peer feedback and a framework to share career goals and passions. We are proud to say many people on our leadership team have grown through the ranks of the agency!
- Transparency – We have regular, anonymous surveys for you to share your feedback, an open door policy, regular agency meetings and a suggestion box that is always open for you to share your thoughts and ideas.
The ideal candidate for this position will have 3+ years of professional experience with web technologies, user experience, and/or project management including creating documentation, sitemaps, process flows, and wireframes.
