Job description: The Brand Creative team at USC University Communications seeks a talented and creative professional for the Senior Graphic Designer position. Working closely with the Creative Director, Senior Design Manager and fellow designers, the candidate will help to oversee and uphold the USC graphic identity system in addition to bringing in digital expertise to the team. The Senior Graphic Designer will work on both print and digital campaigns to promote various initiatives to the Trojan community. The ideal candidate has excellent time management, client services and communications skills, both verbal and written, with a strong understanding of layout, typography and composition in the print and digital realms. The person who fills this role will need to be a self-starter who can set priorities, meet deadlines and can work independently as well as collaboratively. Animation skills are a big plus.
Job Responsibilities
Conceptualize, design, produce and deliver creative assets for a wide range of projects including information graphics, social media, website, animation, branded materials and collateral.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the University to ensure consistency with USC’s brand and identity standards.
Support senior staff in assigned project-based work.
Participate in creative brainstorms for design projects.
Communication and problem-solving skills are a must.
Optimize assets for the web.
Attend press checks as needed.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Associate degree or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
3 years of relevant experience in graphic or industrial design.
Work experience as graphic designer covering all aspects of artwork preparation and printing. Requires thorough knowledge of typography, printing processes, selection of paper or printing surface and paper folding, binding and finishing.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or related field.
4-5 years of professional experience working in a creative environment such as design firm, advertising or digital agency, or in-house creative department.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and UI/UX (Sketch, Figma, XD).
HTML and CSS skills is a plus.
Familiarity with WordPress and Mailchimp.
Excellent typography skills and attention to detail.
After Effects is a plus.
Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
The hourly rate range for this position is $33.27 – $38.47.
